G GUNMARK

Build notes

What changed in each build, newest first. Most of it came straight from early testers who filed blunt feedback.

Build 20 · September 2026

  • Optional iCloud sync. Turn it on in Settings and your collection syncs through Apple CloudKit under your Apple ID — still no Gunmark account and nothing on a studio server. Leave it off for local-only.

Build 19 · 3 September 2026

  • CSV import and export. Settings → Export lets you pick Firearms, Parts, and/or Maintenance and share the selected files in one go. Settings → Import offers blank templates and column matching for your own spreadsheet. Same serial updates instead of duplicating; Parts can use FirearmSerial when two guns share a name.
  • CSV files start with the real header (no comment rows). Excel gets a UTF-8 BOM so characters don't garble. Soft-deleted items stay out of exports.
  • Collection PDF uses the real Gunmark mark and a clearer header. Settings explains iCloud Backup and links to the FAQ at gunmark.app/faq.

Build 18 · 2 September 2026

  • Delete and replace a photo from the full-screen view. Removing or swapping one used to mean dismissing the viewer first, then finding it again with a long-press. A trash button (bottom-left) and, on documentation slots, a replace button (bottom-right) now sit right in the expanded photo.
  • Replacing a documentation photo no longer dismisses the viewer before asking Take Photo or Choose from Library — the choice now appears while the photo is still expanded, and nothing changes until you pick one.

Build 17 · 2 September 2026

  • Photos can be viewed and deleted again. A photo already sitting in a documentation slot (Left Profile, Serial Number, etc.) or the More Photos section couldn't be opened or removed by tapping it — only an empty slot responded. Tapping a filled slot now opens it full-screen, with swipe to dismiss and pinch to zoom; a long-press still offers Replace and Delete straight from the grid.

Build 16 · 6 August 2026

  • Recently Deleted. Nothing you delete is destroyed straight away — it waits 30 days in Settings → Recently Deleted, and one swipe puts it back. Parts, maintenance entries and photos can now be deleted at all, which they could not before.
  • Taking a part off a gun is still Remove, not Delete — that keeps the part and its build history. Deleting a part that is currently fitted is refused outright, and says so, rather than quietly taking the build record with it.
  • The app switcher no longer shows your collection when Face ID lock is on. The lock engaged a moment after iOS had already taken its snapshot.
  • Editing a part no longer shows two stacked navigation bars.
  • Email feedback works on a phone with no mail account. It was a plain mail link, which does nothing at all — silently — when there is nothing to open it. It now copies the address and tells you it did. The one button whose job is reporting bugs should not be the one with a bug in it.
  • Support, Privacy, Terms and these build notes open inside Gunmark and close with Done, instead of handing you to Safari and losing your place. The PayoffPilot link still opens the App Store, which is where it belongs.
  • The PayoffPilot row shows its real app icon.

Build 15 · 5 August 2026

  • Calibers match however you write them. ".380", "0.380" and ".380 ACP" were three different things to search and export; they are one now.
  • An unfinished entry is offered back to you from the collection list, rather than waiting silently until the next time you tap add.
  • Settings gained the pages that already existed on the web but were never linked from inside the app — support, privacy, terms and these notes.
  • "Add photo" has an icon, matching "Take photo".
  • Settings picked up the studio's visual language.

Build 14 · 2 August 2026

  • Tapping a Make or Caliber suggestion fills the field. It was setting the value behind the scenes but leaving your half-typed text on screen, and the next keystroke undid it.
  • An entry in progress survives leaving the app. Switching away to look something up rebuilt the screen from scratch and took the entry with it. If iOS shuts the app down while you are away, your typing comes back the next time you add.

Build 13 · 30 July 2026

  • Cancel above the keyboard puts the field back the way it was.
  • Cancel and Done are a full-size tap target — the first tap or two used to miss.
  • Tap a custom field's name to rename it.

Build 12 · 30 July 2026

  • Unlocking Pro completes instead of failing with "Item Unavailable".
